John J Cush, MD - Rheumatologist |
Dr. Cush is the Director of Clinical Rheumatology for Baylor Research Institute and is a Professor of Medicine and Rheumatology at the Baylor University Medical Center. He is board certified in both internal medicine and rheumatology. He is a Clinical Professor of Internal Medicine at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School.

Dr. Cush has been named one of the “Best Doctors in Dallas” by D Magazine for the last 10 years and has more than 27 years of clinical and research experience. Dr. Cush is devoted to patient care and clinical research. Experience, insight and candor have made him a frequently sought after educator and advisor. He has authored more than 100 medical and scientific publications and written two textbooks in Rheumatology (Rheumatology: Diagnosis and Therapeutics and Rheumatoid Arthritis: Early Diagnosis and Treatment).
He is the recipient of numerous awards including the R.B. Hingson Humanitarian Award, Teacher of the Year, Best Doctors in America, Texas Top Docs and Best Doctors in Dallas. He has held national leadership positions with the Arthritis Foundation and the American College of Rheumatology and has served on the Arthritis Advisory Committee for the US Food and Drug Administration.
His prime clinical and research interests include drug safety, biologic therapies and medical education. He has served on the Arthritis Advisory Committee of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and is the past editor of the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) Hotline series and is the current editor of the ACR Drug Safety Quarterly publication.
