She now has a young infant, is sleep deprived, doesn’t feel great anyway and then on top of that it is a high-risk time for disease flares for patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis or Lupus. The postpartum period is often a difficult time as women adjust to life as a mother. This time also poses increased challenges for women with an autoimmune disease.
