Lupus is typically difficult to diagnose because it presents differently in almost every patient. Bonnie Lee Bermas, MD, Director of the Lupus Center at Harvard’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and Megan E. B. Clowse, MD, MPH, a Rheumatologist at Duke University, explained how while this makes it harder for rheumatologists to put the pieces together to form the diagnosis, there is a silver lining.
