However, Lupus pregnancies can be threatened by a variety of conditions from high blood pressure to increased disease activity. Disease flares can mimic signs of preeclampsia which can make for a difficult differential diagnosis. This is why the right medical team has to be assembled, including a high-risk obstetrician, in order to handle any complications that may arise.
