Studies show that Rheumatoid Arthritis in women is on the rise, and as many as 65% of all women with RA reported that they did not have as many children as they had hoped. While it appears to have often been the woman's own choice to not get pregnant, this data could mean lost opportunities and unnecessary regrets. The anticipated pain and fatigue that could be preventing women from having children can now be overcome with proper treatment, but only if patients and rheumatologists discuss family planning and work together as a team.
